Ghanaians descend on Akufo-Addo over his tweet to France

The president of Ghana has incurred the wrath of the citizenry over a tweet he shared to commiserate with France.

News broke last night of fire that gutted the Notre Dame Cathedral destroying properties worth millions of dollars and as best international relations practices, the president of Ghana sent out a few heart-warming tweets to commiserate with the people of France but Ghanaians will not have it!

The president’s tweets were welcomed with retweets and replies of Ghanaians showing anger and dissatisfaction. According to their responses, the president is too quick to offer condolences and sympathies to people outside his jurisdiction whiles his own people suffer.

Many of the tweets reminded the president of the recent heavy downpour of rains that killed over five people and destroyed many homes, and the simple question from these Ghanaians is where is the president’s tweet to commiserate with his own people?

Frank Lampard To Become Next Chelsea Permanent Boss As Pressure Mounts On Maurizio Sarri

Former Chelsea captain Frank Lampard is the bookmakers’ favourite to become the next permanent boss as pressure mounts on Maurizio Sarri.

Following Sunday’s 6-0 humiliation at the hands of Manchester City, Sarri’s position has been placed under further scrutiny.

Lampard has impressed so far this season with Derby County in the Championship in what is his first job as a manager since ending his illustrious playing career.

Lampard has been installed as 2/1 favourite with a few firms, edging out three-time Champions League winner Zinedine Zidane, who is yet to return to management since leaving Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho, sacked by Manchester United in December, is out at 12/1 for a return to Chelsea for a third spell.

Impressive Wolves boss Nuno is with Portuguese compatriot Mourinho at 12/1 while World Cup-winning manager Didier Deschamps is at 16/1.

For Chelsea, their drubbing by City has seen them fall to sixth, denting ambitions of a top-four finish.

Sarri was non-committal after the match when asked if his position is now in serious jeopardy.

‘You have to ask the club,’ Sarri said amid growing calls for his removal after a fourth defeat in eight games.

‘I’m worried about my team. I’m worried about the performance. My job is always at risk.’

Sarri was asked if he was expecting a call from owner Roman Abramovich, but the answer pointed towards the power structure at Chelsea.

‘If the president calls, I’ll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him,’ he said.

‘To be honest, I don’t know what to expect. I didn’t see my football. At the beginning of the season it worked. Now we need to understand the reasons why it isn’t working. It is not easy.’

Lampard enjoyed a trophy-laden career as a player at Chelsea and would be a hit with supporters if he does one day become first-team manager.

He returned to Stamford Bridge with Derby earlier this season and received a hero’s welcome before his side gave the hosts a scare before losing 3-2.

An under-pressure Sarri must now rouse his players for Thursday’s Europa League knockout tie with Malmo before facing Manchester United in the FA Cup next Monday.

Anthony Martial Cheated On Pregnant Girlfriend With Model Malika Semichi

According to the Daily Star, the France international cheated on his pregnant girlfriend in a £70-a-night hotel after meeting in a Paris nightclub.

Martial’s girlfriend Melanie Da Cruz has since given birth, but model Malika Semichi has claimed to the Daily Star that she and Martial had an affair in a Paris hotel.

This is not the first time Martial’s character has come under the spotlight, despite the 23-year-old being one of the finest attacking players in the Premier League and arguably in Europe.

Martial is having a fine season for Man Utd and recently got his reward with a new long-term contract with the Red Devils.

Still, this story could rock the former Monaco starlet, with Malika opening up on her relations with Martial, stating she felt he used her and that she was surprised to be taken to such a cheap hotel, perhaps due to his desire to keep a low profile and keep this story hidden from his girlfriend.

‘I have to say I was surprised when he told me which hotel he had picked,’ she said.

‘It wasn’t the nicest and was a bit rundown and cheap, especially seeing as he’s used to much nicer hotels.

‘But I knew he had a girlfriend so presumed it was because he didn’t want anyone to see us together.

‘It started off pretty friendly and he’d ask how I was and if I was having a good day and we’d send silly pictures.

‘But then it started to get a bit more personal.

‘I knew he had a girlfriend, but he kept telling me they weren’t having sex because she was pregnant.

‘I really cared for him. It felt special. But in the end it was clear he was just using me.

‘I decided to cut off contact because I didn’t want to pursue a relationship with someone who was already in one and I didn’t want to get hurt.’

Derek Boateng Sues Ex-Black Stars Teammate John Paintsil Over Borrowed $20,000

Ex-Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has sued former international teammate John Paintsil to refund US$ 20,000 he borrowed in camp during the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa.

In a writ, Boateng is demanding the recovery of the amount plus interest at commercial bank rate from the date the defendant collected the money till the date of final payment.

Also, the former Fulham and Getafe star is asking Paintsil to defray his legal fees and cost.

Boateng was granted an order of substituted service on 16 August 2018 to serve the defendant (Paintsil) after several unsuccessful attempts since filing the writ on 15 May, 2018.

The court presided over by Justice Jennifer Akua Tagoe has directed the posting of a copy of the writ of summons at the last known place of abode of the defendant at H/No 13, Afro Street, Trassaco Estate, Accra.

The plaintiff, according to the court, should also leave a copy with any adult found on the premises of the defendant and additionally post a copy on the notice board of the honourable court.

Gambling:

The plaintiff averred that recently when he demanded his money, defendant made it clear that he did not owe the plaintiff ”but admits that that money he collected from the plaintiff was used for gambling at the camp and since he lost, he has no money to give to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff said he was not part of that game, but the defendant borrowed the money and used it personally for his own interest and therefore must refund the money.
